First Person on Scene (FPOS)

Summary

This Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh endorsed course is designed to take the First Aider on to the next skill level, students will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency. It is aimed at those working in high risk and hostile environments – it is ideal for remote medics, Close Protection Operators and Ships’ Anti-Piracy Teams. As such FPOS is fully recognized by the Security Industry Authority.

The course is run over 5 days. It includes both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, designed to develop a good all-round First Responder.

There are no prerequisites for this course - anybody with a desire to learn the skills is welcome to attend.

The course includes a comprehensive handbook, assessment by an independent examiner and certification.
